Book of Insects
I have been fascinated by insects since childhood – the diversity of their forms, fairytale shapes and colors. Sometimes they are completely unreal like the prying mantis Hymenopus coronatus, which resembles a blooming orchid. Dragonflys and beetles with glistening rainbow shells, the blue butterfly Morfo Meneleus, which I saw in the amazon jungle – they all resemble little works of art.
I also created a pop-up based on this illustration, where the insects have transparent three-dimentional wings. The project was realized as part of my scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2013.
