Atlas of Birds

The ability to soar above the clouds and see the world from a different perspective, absolute freedom, being in a perfect symbiosis with nature, their singing and the madness of colors in their feathers…

Atlas of Birds is a series of large-scale prints and wallpapers. It is inspired by a XIXth century fashion to decorate walls with illustrated panoramas. In the interiors of those times they resembled a fake window into a realistic or fantasy world and aimed to create a feeling of taking part in the scene. I chose large formats to give such an impression of a window in our living room, through which we can look into a hypnotic garden. The birds are placed on both minimal backgrounds and on those with extremely intense, crazy colors. It was interesting for me how the preception of the illustration changes depending on the type of background.
